WANT TO CONTRIBUTE TO WOCM GATHERING 2025?

Women of Colour Melbourne is a not-for-profit organisation that, since 2017, has been creating gatherings and events where women of colour can come together to share their experiences, build community, and support one another in safe and inclusive spaces.

We’re currently planning our annual Women of Colour Gathering (happening Saturday 11 October and expecting over 200 attendees) – and we’re inviting speakers, facilitators, artists and stallholders to get involved! We’re currently taking expressions of interest from speakers, facilitators, and creatives whose work aligns with our objectives to bring women of colour together to create stronger networks and opportunities to connect, reflect, and learn from one another.

This year our Annual Gathering theme is: Culture as Power: Amplifying Our Voices and Representation in Public Spaces

We believe in offering a variety of ways to engage with our community during the Women of Colour Gathering 2025. Whether you’re looking to share your expertise, showcase your business, or connect with attendees, there’s an opportunity for you to make a meaningful contribution.

  1. Keynote Speaker (approx. 45 minutes) Share your ideas and knowledge with our community in an inspiring keynote address, providing valuable insights and thought leadership.

  2. Session Speaker (approx. 20-30 minutes) Present a talk focused on sharing your experiences, expertise, and ideas with attendees in an engaging and informative way.

  3. Workshop Facilitator or Artist (approx. 15-30 minutes) Lead a workshop that offers practical skills and tools, giving attendees hands-on learning experiences and valuable takeaways.

  4. Stallholder Showcase your women of colour-owned services or business. Connect directly with our audience, promote your offerings, and inspire new connections.

  5. Sponsor Become a sponsor aligned with the Women of Colour Melbourne agenda. Your support will help amplify our mission and further our work in meaningful ways.

Here are a few prompts to help shape your submission:

-How does your work or service connect with our theme: Culture as Power: Amplify our representation & voice in public discourse?
-What themes or ideas will attendees take away from your session?
-What skills or knowledge will you help build?
-How does your work empower women of colour or support our community’s growth?
-How do you plan to connect with attendees during your session or stall?
-What makes your contribution unique?
-How has your journey as a woman of colour shaped your work or business? If you’re speaking, facilitating or performing – what are your honorarium expectations?

We’re keen to co-create something powerful, accessible, and grounded in community care.
